Hsinchu Science Park, Taiwan, July 29th, 2009 - Sunplus Technology Co., Ltd. (TAIEX: 2401, LSE: SUPD) today announced its second quarter financial results in 2009. The net sales from April to June in 2009 totaled NT$1.73 billion, an increase of 86% compared to last quarter. The profit after tax for second quarter in 2009 was NT$69 million, and the net profit per share was NT$0.12 based on the outstanding 596,909,919 shares on June 30th, 2009.
The first half net sales in 2009 totaled NT$2.7 billion, a decrease of 22.6% compared to the same period of last year. Due to the loss in the first quarter of 2009, the net loss after tax from January through June in 2009 totaled NT$420 million and the net loss per share was NT$0.7 based on the outstanding 596,909,919 shares on June 30th, 2009.
