| Sunplus Monthly Sales Report - April 2009 |

| Hsinchu Science Park, Taiwan, May 08, 2009 - Sunplus Technology Co., Ltd. ("Sunplus" or "the Company") (TAIEX: 2401, LSE: SUPD) today announced that monthly net sales for April 2009 totaled NT$563 million, an increase of 23.09% compared to last month and an increase of 5.44% compared to the same month in 2008. Net sales for January through April 2009 totaled NT$1,493 million, a decrease of -31.73% compared to the same period in 2008.
